June 26, 2020 POSITION PURPOSE:
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing final inspections of products ensuring the product meets all requirements for the customer and other internal requirements as noted.
This person will use appropriate measurement/inspection methods, document results and position the product for Packaging and Release.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - The following list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary based on business needs.
1.
Perform specific inspection of materials at Final Inspection.
Support incoming or in-process inspections as needed.
2.
Operation of measurement devices:
verniers, digital micrometers, non-contact measurement devices, vision systems, optical comparators, linear scales 3.
Use of inspection devices:
microscopes as part of the inspection processes 4.
Document inspection activities both hard copy and data entry into ERP system 5.
Scan pertinent documentation into software 6.
Support quality in material nonconformances and support failure mode root cause / process changes Maintain a final inspection area for safety, cleanliness and apply 5S methods where applicable 8.
Learn the use of the company quality management software data entry, routing and reporting 9.
Follow prioritization of product from management and maintain a low queue of pending inspection 10.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned by supervisor.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
1.
Ability to efficiently and accurately use required measurement and inspection devices for low to moderately complex parts.
2.
Ability to read basic blueprints.
GD&T understanding a plus.
3.
Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing 4.
Organized and detail oriented 5.
Ability to navigate a computer ERP system, in certain modules, and perform data entry, data retrieval Willingness to continually work beyond scope of essential duties in order to assist whenever and wherever needed to ensure needs are met 7.
Ability to lift and maneuver up to 20 pounds regularly.
(larger weights may require assistance) QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Experience:
Minimum 3 years in product quality inspection in a manufacturing environment Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Additional relevant education or formal training preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
Valid Class D Driver's License.
Other:
Ability to speak Portuguese preferred.
