EOI - Council Assessment Panel, Specialist External Members Term of appointment - Two (2) years, commencing in May 2024 Monthly meetings - Held on the third Monday of each month.
Remuneration - A fee is payable to Members for each meeting attended.
The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is seeking expressions of interest from members of the public who would like to become a member of the Council Assessment Panel (CAP).
The Council is seeking to appoint a Presiding Member and three (3) Specialist External Members, who will join an Elected Member representative to form the five (5) member CAP.
The Council is also seeking to appoint a Deputy Specialist External Member, who would participate in CAP proceedings on occasions where another Member is unavailable.
The CAP operates as a relevant authority under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 (the Act).
Its key role is to make decisions on certain types of Development Applications and Reviews of decisions of the Assessment Manager.
Interested candidates should be eligible for Planning Level 2 Accreditation under the Accredited Professionals Scheme and ideally possess qualifications and experience in one or more of the following fields:
Town planning; Traffic engineering; Planning law; Or any other relevant field.
Preference may be given to candidates who live within the Council area, who have already achieved accreditation and who have a sound knowledge of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and the South Australian Planning & Design Code.
The term of appointment is for two (2) years, commencing in May 2024.
CAP meetings are normally scheduled on the third Monday of each month at 7pm in the Norwood Town Hall (175 The Parade, Norwood), however attendance at special meetings on alternate dates may be necessary from time to time.
A remuneration fee is payable to Members for each meeting attended.
Expressions of Interest must include a resume and covering letter detailing relevant skills and experience, together with evidence of accreditation at Level 2 of the Accredited Professional Scheme.
As the Presiding Member's role is to chair formal meetings, expressions of interest for this position should outline experience in chairing formal meetings and knowledge of the operation and requirements of the Act.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
