Solutions Engineer - Growing Software Company
Our client is a British telephony software company looking to grow it's Metrowest office. As they expand, they're looking for an outgoing solutions engineer to join their team.
The right candidate should have a sharp technical mind and a desire to work in a customer facing environment. The role will consist of a mix of implementation, presales and support work for a variety of clients across the US. Travel is involved about 20%-35% of the time, including occasional trips to the UK.
Candidates should have a technical acumen, strong communication skills and a passion for excellence. While it's a bonus, prior sales or telephony experience is not required. In return, our client offers a great work environment and competitive compensation in their office right outside of Boston.
Responsibilities
Provide on-site technical services when necessary and undertake national and international travel as required
Provide pre-sales assistance for the sales team
Log, review and provide customer assistance on incoming technical support inquiries
Demonstrate creative problem solving skills; anticipate error conditions and likely failure scenarios.
Escalate issues to engineering as needed. Set customer expectations and provide regular updates to customers
Help customers design solutions for their needs using client's products and services
Requirements:
BS/BA is required, a technical degree is preferred
Ability to create and lead technical training sessions and presentations
Ability to travel for onsite implementations, training and pre-sales activity
Experience with at least one programming language, Python, Java or C# preferred
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Self starter willing to take initiative for seeing new projects from start to finish on time
Technically enthusiastic and ambitious.
Have an imaginative approach to solving problems
Presales and Technical Support activity will include:
International travel will be required for training, Pre-Sales and Professional services activityEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
