Responsibilities:
Implement scripts/packages for spatial analysis, data management and visualization related GIS workflow solutions.
Create Python packages, modules or scripts that follow the standard Python design patterns Design, develop, and maintain Python packages/scripts for spatial analysis, data management, and visualization related geoprocessing workflows Analyze, and fix bugs/performance problems related to Python developed scripts Developed GIS tools by working effectively with a team of scientists in a creative research environment Requirements:
Bachelor's or master's in computer science, engineering, or GIS related field At least one year of experience in Python programming.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Python Knowledge of software design architectures and conceptsExcellent problem-solving, design, development, and debugging skills Excellent written and verbal communication and time management skills Comfortable with Windows operation systems Recommended
Qualifications:
Familiarity with ESRI GIS products and ArcObjectsFamiliarity with any of C, C++, C#, R, or FORTRAN is a big plus Familiarity with Open Source GIS Tools is plus Familiarity with any flavor of Linux OS is a plus Prior experience with software development and design Knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or DB2 is a plus.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
