$35-$45/hr Depending on ExperiencePOC Labeling Design team is seeking a Senior Level Graphic Designer to act as a product and packaging design specialist.
This role will be critical to designing and driving the creative direction of our future packaging, product labeling, technical user publications, and other product collateral.
This position will work closely with the Senior Design Lead and collaborate with our product labeling and user documentation staff and other UXD disciplines, such as human factors engineering and our industrial design team, to help define the look and feel of both electronic and printed forms of visual media for Point of Care instrumentation, informatics, and reagent products.
In addition, strong collaboration with the other internal groups such as Marketing, R&D, Procurement, and manufacturing plants will be essential in delivering the updated packaging and labeling deliverables.
Responsibilities ? Define and implement the creative vision for Siemens Point of Care products in our print and packaging materials, while also providing conceptual design input to the ongoing product interaction design programs of the Product Labeling department.
? Execute the design direction of our user documentation and packaging.
? Be responsible for the creation, production preparation, and final production of artwork and user documentation.
? Sketch, Conceptualize, design, organize, and execute on labeling and user documentation projects; integrating these designs with ongoing product and interface development efforts of the Product Labeling department.
? Contribute to the empirical user research and industrial design concept development for ongoing product programs in the Product Labeling department.
? Develop visual and functional prototypes for internal and/or external audiences that will elicit feedback into the design process for print and packaging, product labeling, user interface, and product design.
? Provide direction to the Product Labeling team to enable successful implementation of graphical and other design elements into ongoing product development projects.
? Work directly with other Siemens artists and graphic illustrators both within and outside the Point of Care Product Labeling team.
? Collaborate with the Product Labeling Leads for each platform to ensure updated artwork is tracked and ready for process through ECN.
? Coordinate design changes with the manufacturing plants and their print vendors, including creation or updating of existing die lines, as well as review and approve delivered proofs.
? Present quarterly updates on new design concepts to internal groups and management team.
? Willingness to perform investigative work when necessary to ensure all product artwork per platform has been captured, and drive plants to incorporate design updates on the artwork they create internally.
Qualifications ? BA/BS degree or higher.
An advanced degree in Graphics and/or Industrial Design is preferred.
? Direct experience in hardware line art for service, operator, and online manuals, as well as maintenance documentation, product inserts, labeling and assembly instructions for translated global products.
? Direct experience with Mechanical Drawings (Dielines of packaging) is a must.
? Ability to create sketches and drawing concepts of packaging is a must.
? Familiar with the latest software design applications such as QuarkXPress and plugins.
Master Creative Suite CS6 and Creative Cloud.
Solidworks experience.
? PC and Mac-based experience.
? Desktop publishing and document layout skills ? Strong knowledge of print production, prepress, and four color process.
? Strong interpersonal, teamwork and leadership abilities/skills.
? Strong verbal and written communication skills.
? Experience in Medical device industry & a strong design portfolio a must.
? Strong prototyping skills in both 2D and 3D video simulation are a plus.
? Strong management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
? Attention to quality and detail on work output is critical in this role.
Knowledge of medical regulations relevant to Product Labeling and documentation is required.
